provides an extensive regional service to many Asian tourist spots in China, Laos, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore amd the Maldives as well as throughout Thailand. Owner of the Samui airport.
Thai Airways - domestic arm of the Thai national carrier connecting via Bangkok to destinations worldwide.
Fireflyz - subsidiary of Malaysian Airlines servicing regional Malaysia, southern Thailand and Singapore.
Berjaya Air - Malaysian Airline owned by the Berjaya conglomorate serving mainly Malaysia.
Links - Sea + Land
Train - Not the best rail system in the region, but inexpensive.
Bus - The main form of transport for Thai people. Main routes are well serviced + cheap.
Seatran Ferries - Car Ferry option. 1+1/2 hours to+from Donsak on the mainland.
Raja Ferries - Same routes as Seatran to and from Donsak (though using different piers) - seen better days.
Lomprayah - runs bus+ferry combined service from Bangkok and trips to the National Maritime Park from Samui.
TravelGetting to Samui
Samui is an easy place to get to. There are frequent daily flights from Bangkok. You can fly direct from Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur and several Thai locations. Enjoy the rather special Samui Airport - something a little different - definitely tropical island style. Have more time or want to save money? Then one of the many bus and ferry services is another option. So getting here is not a problem - however, you may find after your wonderful holiday it is a little more difficult to leave....
