Things to See and Do - Sightseeing Koh Samui
There are many things to do while visiting Samui: deep sea dive, snorkel, sail, play golf, Jet Ski, trek, ride elephants, visit the aquarium, see the mummified Monk, butterfly garden and snake farm, Bengal tigers, buffalo fighting, performing monkeys, adventure sports and many more. We have selected a few less well known places and activities which may be of interest for gay travellers. These are not gay owned or operated (as far as we know) but you are sure to meet Thai, Asian and Western gay men and women along the way.
The Koh Samui Information website provides details of the full range of things to see and do on the island ![]()
Waterfalls Samui has some magnificent water falls.
Namuang Waterfall (the lower level has a 18m fall) is the most accessible and just off the main road about half way between Nathon and Lamai. It has a great swimming hole below the fall - take swimming costumes - which is a popular weekend and late afternoon spot for a splash for local Thai families and many hunky Thai guys. Also try out the Wanorn and Hin Lad waterfalls - the latter requiring a serious but beautiful bush walk.
Rum + Wine Samui has its own winery located south Samui on road Number 4169 between Nathon and Lamai which makes wine from local fruit and berries. 'The Magic Alambic Distillery' located on road Number 4173 about 3 km south of the Namuang waterfall produces high quality rum distilled from local fruits and sugar cane.
