A Room With A View - Koh Samui

Well ... many rooms will have a view - the sparkling azure of the tropical sea or the luscious verdancy of the tropical forest and mountainside. But many won't. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. There is a huge variety of accommodation available - from glamorous 5 5tar resorts down to the humble coconut wood hut. From 500 baht to 20,000 baht a night - It's your choice.

There are a myriad of hotel booking websites which list the entire gamut of hotel and long stay accommodation available. Some of the better sites are listed on our links page.

There are two gay hotels on Samui but you will find all hotels gay friendly, extremely welcoming with no problems for your Thai guest. You'll find further details in the gay and friendly pages of this web site.

Another option is to rent a furnished house. This is particularly cost effective if you are a group or planning to stay for sometime - a month or more. As with hotels there is a huge range of styles and quality available - sprawling well appointed homes to small basic villas. Again it is a case of getting what you pay for.

Many hotels in Thailand require that any overnight guest you bring back to your room is registered on entry to the hotel - this usually involves them leaving their id card with security or at reception. Samui hotels generally do not charge a "joiner fee" for any visitors as is often the case in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.
